Where dreams come true, one fish at a time.
I will try to keep as current as possible. If the report is old, it means that I haven't fished that body of water for a current report.
Eufaula-Mid June. Found a good cankbait bite in 6-10 foot divers in same depth waters. Caught good numbers of Smallmouth up to 3.5 lbs. Catching some Largemouth along the way up to 3 lbs. Also caught mostly Spotted Bass trying Yum Wooly Hog Craws on a 1/4 oz jig head in 10-20 feet. Have not updated Eufaula lately due to high waters.
August 1-12. The crankbait bite is still on. Numbers have not been exceptional, but still catching a few quality fish. The best have been a 4 lb Smallie, 4 lb Largemouth, and a 7 lb flathead. Yes, on a crankbait too. I knew it was fighting like a cat, but was hoping for a nice Smallie!!
Tenkiller- Report for July 1-12. Smallmouth have been a little slow with all the better fish coming at night. Seems like the best times to be on the water are moon rise or transit if possible. Had a 4.5 lb smallie and several in the 2-3 lb range, but they are tough to find at times. Picking up some 3-3.5 lb Largemouth on drop-shots in 20-25 foot mainlake ledges in the daytime. Spotted bass are liking a watermelon/red trick worm on steep banks.
July 13-29. Well, I was really looking forward to an awesome night bite with the full moon. Turns out our best times were the few nights leading up to the full moon. Most of the fish are in 8-15 ft with bottom creatures in black neon or watermelon red. Steve Carter and I fished the Got Bass Tournament on Tenkiller July 22. We used drop shots with Zoom finesse worms to get a limit of Spots then threw carolina rigged Zoom speed craws to upgrade with 3 nice Smallies. Our biggest fish was only 3.42 but it was enough to raise our total to 11.49 lbs. We finished 6th out of 89 boats. Congrats to everyone who beat us with some nice bags of Largemouth. Did not see any Smallmouth in the bags ahead of us. I think they were all on river Largemouth bites.
